What is Moto?
Moto is an integrated suite of hardware and software that was custom engineered from the ground up for Spydercam’s use in film production environments. The design goal was to get the shots the director wants safely, quickly and simply. Moto allows us to do that.
Set up is quick and painless. Moves can be programmed in minutes and altered in moments. All without compromising the safety of the cast and crew working around the moving camera. This amazing flexibility is what puts the Spydercam system light years ahead of any other rigging solution.
Why Use Moto?
The Moto control package is what sets Spydercam apart from competing systems.
Most other suspended control systems use software designed for industrial control, or cumbersome motion control systems. As a result, making moves with those packages can take hours, even days -- expensive on-set time taken away from shooting.
Moto gives our operator all the tools they need to be able to build moves. Going from a blank slate to a full-speed ready move, usually in less than 10 minutes. Changes to moves take mere moments.
Safety comes first in everything Spydercam does, and Moto is no exception. Because Moto was designed and engineered specifically, it is full integrated into the winches and motors that drive the rigs. This integration gives the operator instant access to diagnostics and status on all the hardware in the system so they can know at a glance if something has gone wrong and fix it.
Do you have a truly unique idea for a shot or a move, so far out of the box you dont think it can be done? No problems, the engineers who designed and wrote the Moto system are on staff. If you have a crazy idea, run it past us, we can probably come up with a unique control solution to fit your unique ideas.
Don’t take our word for it, ask around. Ask anyone who has worked with Spydercam and one of the other systems, see who they think can get the shots you need quicker and safer.
